new comics releases

Welcome back! We’re on Episode #7 of the Weekly Comics News Show — a weekly program that brings you the latest in comic book news, new comics releases, and more! Host Patrick Aloia, his guest host (this week — Aaron Berke), and our creative team will scour through releases and news stories every week to get you exactly what you need to be up to date in the world of comics.

Things get weird pretty much immediately in this episode. I expect you to go along with it no matter what your heart, mind, gut, soul, or grandpa tells you. All those things, especially your grandpa, are dead wrong about how weird this episode starts out. Dead wrong.

In this episode we also report on something that I’ve been told is called “news.” For example, DC All Access host Jason Inman’s Kickstarter project, JUPITER JET, had a successful campaign! We’d like to congratulate him, and we’re super excited to see what he and his team have in store for the creator-owned comic later this year.

DC has a ton of news this week: BANE is getting his own comic, which is awesome (Graham Nolan and Chuck Dixon, the creators of Bane, are going to be working on the series!), DEATHSTROKE gets a TITANS/TEEN TITANS crossover, Francis Manapul is leaving TRINITY earlier than expected, and there’s a LOONEY TUNES/DC crossover in the works that frankly makes me nauseous.

MARVEL’s ELEKTRA #1 debuted this week, and I can attest to its awesomeness. R.L. motherf*ckin Stein is writing a new MAN-THING comic (his first comic ever!), ZOMBIE’S ASSEMBLE is coming to the US soon, plus, some news about Corey Lewis’ very cool SUNBAKERY comic for Image. Also, check out our new Staff Picks segment, where we pick from our review copies the comics that our staff liked best! Let us know what you think of our picks, and what you loved in the comments!
