WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR has been one of the best VALIANT books on shelves since its release in late 2015. The story is a gripping tale of a man trying to come to terms with being immortal. Gilad, who has protected the world’s Geomancers for millennia, has decided to leave his deceased wife and children behind in paradise and fight through the demon realm to return to Earth. He believes humanity can be saved, and it’s worth leaving the ideal life that death has given him behind to continue to help.
At its core, WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR asks a really simple question. What is the price of immortality? It is a question that has been asked a lot in many different forms, but very rarely, if ever, is it as compelling and gripping as it is in WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR. Issue #4 finds Gilad on the cusp of returning to Earth. In a final showdown with Humongous, the ruler of the Demon Realm, After defeating hordes of demons, Gilad must survive one final trial before he is truly, back in the world of the living. He has already chosen his path, and it is now time for him to finish his quest.
The entire RISEN arc has been absolutely fantastic and issue #4 looks to continue this trend. If you have not been reading WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR, you still have some time to catch up and experience one of the most unique concepts in comics. Go back and read the first three issues, then begin the agonizing wait for the final issue to drop on February 17th.
