Reign

It’s amazing to think we have already come to the Mid-Season finales of our favorite CW shows. Here we are in the second most important episodes of this season! As we learn from the previews, chaos will reign in this episode.

In THE FLASH, Iris will make a momentous decision of which of her friends to save.On LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, the team will attempt to rescue a younger Martin Stein from the Vikings. ARROW will have Oliver Queen discover a traitor within his team. Finally, SUPERGIRL has Kara come face to face with her newest threat, Reign – The World-killer. Will our heroes be able to survive these trials that wait for them?

SUPERGIRL: “Reign”

Supergirl 3×09 – The Mid-Season finale of SUPERGIRL finds our hero (Melissa Benoist) face to face with Reign, aka her friend Samantha Arias (Odette Annable).

Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes

Fans who have been keeping up with SUPERGIRL have seen the friendship between Kara and Samantha blossom over the course of this season. While a confrontation between these two titans was inevitable, it is heartbreaking to see Supergirl fight someone who not only is a friend but a mother to her young daughter Ruby (Emma Tremblay).

The promo for SUPERGIRL 3×09 features an ominous voiceover from Thomas Coville (Chad Lowe), the former leader of the Cult of Rao. In his earlier appearance this season he was arrested for promoting his followers to test their faith in Supergirl by putting themselves in danger.

His voiceover in this promo implies he will return for the Mid-Season finale and provide Supergirl with information on Reign that he received from the Kryptonian probe. Will Supergirl be able to defeat her Reign despite her feelings toward Samantha? To find out, you’ll have to check out SUPERGIRL this Monday night at 8/9 EST on The CW.

THE FLASH: “Don’t Run”

The Mid-Season Finale of THE FLASH has arrived, and with it comes one of the most dangerous battles the Flash (Grant Gustin) will have to face. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) has been kidnapped by Amunet (guest star Katie Sackhoff), who is looking for Caitlin to repay her debts.

Amunet wants Caitlin to perform a medical task. The catch is, if Caitlin fails, Amunet will kill her. The Thinker (Neil Sandilands) has also managed to capture Barry and put him in a speedster-proof prison. The team doesn’t have the time or resources to look for both of them. Because of that, Iris must choose whether to save Barry or Caitlin.

This is a perfect way to take advantage of the Mid-Season finale. The end of the episode will most likely have consequences and keep audiences guessing on what happens next. Even if Iris (Candice Patton) manages to save one of them, the team will be broken because they were unable to save the other member.

Ezra Miller’s Flash Debut Is Blinding…But In A Good Way

Making Iris the one having to decide is also interesting because Iris would most likely try to save her husband first; though that doesn’t mean she wants Caitlin to die. From the looks of the trailer, The Thinker has found a way to stop Cisco (Carlos Valdes) from creating a portal to Barry or Caitlin. Taking out Cisco makes the stakes a lot harder which will make the episode much better. Who will be saved? Find out Tuesday 8/9 EST on The CW.

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: “Beebo The God of War”

The Legends suffered the most significant loss following the 4-part crossover last week when Professor Stein (Victor Garber) died. In this Mid-Season finale, the team appears to be dealing with a whole new set of problems when they must take on Vikings. Alongside the Legends is Agent Sharpe (Jes Macallan) from the Time Bureau.

Fans of the show will know that she has been at odds with the legends since the beginning of the season, so why is she helping them now? Another surprising face joining the Legends is none other than Citizen Cold! At the end of last week’s crossover Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller) decided to stay on Earth-1, but how did he get on the Waverider?

The promo for this Mid-Season finale also revealed that young Stein has returned and is a prisoner to the Vikings! How will Jax (Franz Drameh) react to seeing the younger version of his deceased mentor? Be sure to check out the Mid-Season finale of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Tuesday night at 9/10 EST on The CW.

ARROW: “Irreconcilable Differences”

After the themes of love and marriage in Crisis on Earth X, ARROW’s Mid-Season finale focuses on betrayal. In ARROW 6×09, “Irreconcilable Differences,” Oliver (Stephen Amell) must find out which member of his team has betrayed him and leaked his identity as the Green Arrow. This is a true pity because Oliver has just begun to trust in the people around him. Could this betrayal destroy Team Green Arrow from within?

The CW Crossover: Crisis on Earth-X Review

Meanwhile, Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) and Cayden James (Michael Emerson) kidnap Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne). We know that Cayden James is after some weapon of mass destruction while also looking for a way to avenge his son. It is still unclear why James wants the WMD and how the Green Arrow was involved in Owen James’ death.

Hopefully, we’ll get closer to finding the answer in this episode. Then the drama between Black Siren and Lance will continue. Will Lance’s connection to the Earth-Two version of his daughter lead to his downfall? Or can he redeem this version of Laurel Lance? We’ll have to find out on Thursday at 9/10 EST on the CW.
