: Raleigh, North Carolina

My name is Maite Molina, and I am a student at Wake Forest University studying computer science and English.  When I was five years old, I saw the first entry of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, an event that kickstarted my passion for comic books and superheroes.

What is your favorite comic book and why?

Batman: The Long Halloween is my favorite not only because of its twist ending, but I love Loeb and Sale’s take on the origin of Two-Face as well as Batman’s complex relationship with Harvey Dent.

Which comic book characters do you most admire?

Batman, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Wonder Woman

Which comic book characters do you most despise?

Though it is an unpopular opinion, I have always disliked Iron Man.  I would not say I despise him, I just always found him to be a bit of a jerk.

What is the quality you most like in a creator (writer or artist)?

I like to see interpretations of popular characters that are controversial but don’t compromise the qualities that specific character is known for.  I like to see an emphasis on characteristics that have not been addressed in past adaptations.

I was a big fan of the Teen Titans TV series when I was younger, and I was always drawn to the character of Terra.  I felt as though she was a realistic portrayal of a teenager being granted these awesome powers without knowing how to develop a moral code.  (I’m still hoping for a sixth season!)

Who are your heroes in real life?

Christopher Nolan for creating the greatest trilogy of all time, but also my family for letting me play with action figures as a kid.
