In the Marvel Comics November 2017 Solicitations, we can see numerous examples of how the company is using “Legacy” to return to its roots while introducing brand new titles. Here’s our breakdown of some of the most exciting announcements from the Marvel Comics November 2017 Solicitations! Thor and Iron Man’s Return? MIGHTY THOR #701 and INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #594. Image courtesy of Marvel Entertainment. INVINCIBLE IRON MAN and MIGHTY THOR have been strong sellers for Marvel throughout their runs. Both titles star “legacy characters,” or character who gained their superhero title from a previous owner. Riri Williams dons the Iron Man suit in place of Tony Stark, whereas Jane Foster wields Thor’s hammer. Yet, the Marvel Comics November 2017 Solicitations hint at a return of both Tony Stark and Thor Odinson to their classic titles. INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #594 “The Search For Tony Stark Part 2″ has a description saying: “Who will wield the power of Iron Man? It’s all building to one of the most-anticipated moments in Iron Man history!” Then MIGHTY THOR #701 “Death of the Mighty Thor Part 2″ hints at “the most dramatic return in the Marvel Universe!” Could these details confirm the return of two of Marvel’s most popular heroes? We’ve seen for the last few months that Marvel has put more and more focus on their X-MEN titles. This is going to continue as nearly all of Marvel’s popular mutant books have returned! In both X-MEN BLUE and X-MEN GOLD, the mutants are going to face off with the supervillain Mojo in Mojoworld. Then ICEMAN, JEAN GREY, GENERATION X, ASTONISHING X-MEN, CABLE, WEAPON X, ALL-NEW WOLVERINE, and OLD MAN LOGAN are all set to continue their runs. Furthermore, November will continue with the second part of the five-issue DEADPOOL VS. OLD MAN LOGAN miniseries by Declan Shalvey and Mike Henderson. Rest assured, it’s a great time to be an X-Men fan. Avengers and Champions Crossover CHAMPIONS #13. Image courtesy of Marvel Entertainment. In AVENGERS #673 and CHAMPIONS #11, we get to see parts three and four of WORLDS COLLIDE where the Avengers and the Champions must team up to stop the High Evolutionary from destroying two Earths. Seeing the Avengers interact with this younger team should excite fans of both series. Spider-Man, Nova, and Ms. Marvel each left the Avengers after becoming disillusioned with them in CIVIL WAR II. Now they’re forced to team up with the Avengers once again. We will also see Viv fight alongside her father, Vision. Will the Avengers and the Champions be able to move past their differences? The Marvel Comics November 2017 Solicitations are also promising a lot of action from our favorite ground-level superheroes. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are all continuing with their own solo titles. JESSICA JONES #14 will see JJ face off with her archnemesis, the Purple Man, who has returned from the dead and kidnapped her daughter, Dani Cage. Then all the Defenders will face off with the Kingpin, who has become mayor in DEFENDERS #7. Meanwhile, the Punisher has gotten his hands on the War Machine armor in PUNISHER #218, “Frank Castle: War Machine Part 1.” We will also get more Punisher in PUNISHER: THE PLATOON #3, where we watch the Punisher’s days in the army during the Tet Offensive. Peter Parker is back in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #791 and THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #6, whereas Miles Morales continues his adventures in SPIDER-MAN #234. The two Spider-Men then conclude their team up in Brain Michael Bendis’ SPIDER-MEN II #5. The Marvel Comics November 2017 Solicitations hint at Peter having a romance with Mockingbird in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #791, while SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #6 has Peter having a sit-down interview with none other than J. Jonah Jameson. Then SPIDER-MAN #234 will reintroduce a new Sinister Six which Miles Morales will face off with. STAR WARS takes a new direction STAR WARS #38. Image courtesy of Marvel Entertainment. Finally, STAR WARS is changing its writer from Jason Aaron to Kieron Gillen. Fans should rejoice since Gillen did a spectacular job with his DARTH VADER series. In STAR WARS #38 and #39, we will see the Rebels travel to Jedha, the ancient Jedi planet that appeared in ROGUE ONE, to witness the destruction that the Empire inflicted on the planet. Meanwhile, Charles Soule sets up a new arc in DARTH VADER #7 and #8 in which Vader trains a new group of dark Jedi known as the Inquisitors. Final Thoughts on Marvel Comics November 2017 Solicitations The second month of Marvel Legacy promises a world of entertainment as we see classic characters return and thrilling storylines develop. Everybody’s favorite heroes will have their own time in the spotlight. November marks a time of exciting developments for the comic book company.
