AVENGERS: NO SURRENDER, the next big Marvel crossover event, is coming soon. The event begins in 2018 on January 15th and will be rolling out on a weekly basis. Its creative team consists of Mark Wait, Al Ewing, Jim Zub, Pepe Larraz, Kin Jacinto, and Paco Medina. The trailer shows destruction, high stakes, and a plethora of beloved Marvel heroes. The beginning of the end for the Avengers? Tom Brevoort, SVP of publishing at Marvel, had a few words to say about AVENGERS: NO SURRENDER, calling it a “rallying cry” for the Avengers. Whatever situation the Avengers are going to find themselves in, the fate of tomorrow is at stake. Three teams of Avengers — the Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, and the U.S. Avengers — will be uniting and working together to save the world. Additionally, the “greatest Avenger you’ve never heard of,” Voyager, will be included. “Will it be enough?” the trailer asks, promising doom on the horizon. Nick Spencer Interview at Five Points Festival 2017 Alex Alonso, Editor-in-Chief at Marvel, also shares his excitement over the event. “One of the great advantages we have in the comic book medium is that we have an unlimited special effects budget,” Alonso beams. “Stuff that you can’t get away with in the movies because it’s too expensive, we can do no problem.” Whatever is in store for the Avengers, it sounds like it’s going to be big! While fans have been hungry for an AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR trailer, AVENGERS: NO SURRENDER should be enough to hold many over. This reveal comes just hours after it was announced that long-time Marvel maestro Brian Michael Bendis is leaving the House of Ideas for DC. Whether the timing was a coincidence or not, Marvel looks like they’re going to be doing just fine.
