ComicsVerse has a new podcast and it’s all about gaming!

That’s right: today we’re releasing the first episode of the ComicsVerse Gaming podcast. Join ComicsVerse writers Psychotrip, George Forchuk, Josh Littman, and Andrew Kreiss, as we discuss games we’ve been playing, the latest news, and generally yell about the best and worst of the industry.

In the future, we’ll also be brainstorming game ideas based on audience submissions. Have a funny, unrealistic, or just plain crazy idea for a video game? Send it to us! We’ll also be tackling questions about game design. Can a game be both deep and accessible? When do microtransactions go too far?  These are the kinds of questions we want to tackle in the next video game podcast episode.

Topics Discussed

In this first video game podcast episode, we talk about:

  • Staadia — Google’s new game streaming service. Is this the future of gaming? Or just a flash in the pan? Is it good for consumers? What the hell even is it?
  • The Epic Store — The people behind FORTNITE are pushing their new gaming store in the most obnoxious ways possible. Are their timed exclusives hurting their reputation? Is this the right way to get people to use their service?
  • VAMPIRE THE MASQUERADE BLOODLINES: 2 —  Yeah, it’s a long name, but it’s also the sequel to one of the most beloved RPGs of the past 15 years. Why is this game so important? What should we expect from the sequel? What does this say about the state of RPGs as a whole?
  • METROID PRIME 4 / METROID: OTHER M — Listen to 4 guys lose their minds over the widely anticipated METROID PRIME 4, and lose their cool over the ill-fated METROID: OTHER M.
