If you haven’t checked out COVER by Brian Michael Bendis and David Mack, then you’re truly missing out. Bendis and Mack take the comic book world and turn it on its head. This gives us a chance to see comics (and comic creators) in a completely different light. Using comic book creators in place of American Government spies is a genius plan, but for Max Field, things seem to be going south. COVER #6 not only gives us a phenomenal conclusion, but we also get a variant cover by Jim Lee, which is always a treat for the eyes.

Years in the making, Bendis and Mack give us a story that is completely different from what we’re used to. Max finds himself at an industry dinner. With other comic book creators and publishers in the mix, how will Max find a way to juggle an identity as a comic creator and as an agent? In a room full of comic professionals, how does one keep their identity secret? Will Max blow his cover?

Under Cover in COVER #6

Bendis and Mack have spent the past few years working out how this story will work. As a result, we are given a story that is unlike any other. And the best part? It’s (loosely) based on a true story. If you think the sentiment “reality is stranger than fiction” is absolutely true, this story will definitely back you up. Well, sort of…

Thank goodness this issue drops Wednesday, March 13th, so you won’t have to wait long to see how Max manages to get out of this!
