Heads up web-heads and Fantastic Four fans! Chip Zdarsky just signed an exclusive agreement with Marvel.

No One Can Stop Him Now

This is another fantastic move by Marvel after Brian Michael Bendis’ exit earlier this year. Opening up this space will allow Zdarsky’s versatility to shine and continue to bring new life to our favorite characters.

“I’m thrilled to be with Marvel. This deal means I get to do whatever I want with whatever characters I want and nobody can stop me, which is great. I feel reinvigorated, like someone slapped a new #1 on me and, honestly? I couldn’t be happier.” – Chip Zdarsky

PETER PARKER: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #1 Review: A Date That Just Can’t Wait

With an impressive resume that ranges from older characters like Howard the Duck to newer ones like Star-Lord, Zdarsky is sure to continue bringing his trademark zingers to favorite series. His current run on PETER PARKER: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN has drawn new and old fans alike. This helped put the series at the top as the best-selling comic book of June.

Chip Zdarsky Can Do Whatever He Wants?

But that’s not all. Chip Zdarsky has revived the Fantastic Four with his current MARVEL 2-IN-ONE. Although only Johnny and Ben Grimm have shown up in the series so far, fans of the Fantastic Four are celebrating the return of two favorite heroes. Plus, they’re on the lookout for a Fantastic Four reunion.

“But seriously, in the time he’s been at Marvel, Chip’s shown us all the most amazing range of skills as a writer, from his biting humor on HOWARD THE DUCK, to the way he approaches Marvel continuity in original ways in PETER PARKER, to the heart and humanity he brings to MARVEL 2-IN-ONE. We’re proud to have him as part of the Marvel family and to let him do whatever he wants with whatever characters he wants. Maybe.” – Editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski

MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE #1 Review: Nostalgic Fates

With high praise from Cebulski as well as a (semi) promise to let Zdarsky do whatever he wants, fans can look forward to more of Zdarsky’s trademark wit and humor. With the summer release of both PETER PARKER: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #1, with art by Mike Allred, and MARVEL 2-IN-ONE ANNUAL #1, with art by Declan Shalvey, there will be no lack of Zdarsky. It will be a treat to see what this talented writer has up his sleeve in the months to come!
