Right alongside fan favorites like MY HERO ACADEMIA and ONE PUNCH MAN, some consider the anime a contender for the “Big Three.” Now, at the height of its popularity, BLACK CLOVER is getting its own fighting game. Asta and Yuno are both orphans in a world where just about anyone is capable of performing magic. Yuno has very high magical power and has been recognized for it since birth. Even more, he was born with the ability to control his magic perfectly. His brother, Asta, is a rare case of someone born with zero magical capacity. In contrast, he’s Yuno’s opposite in more ways than that, also lacking his brother’s handsome looks, height, or cool disposition. But, Asta eventually unlocks a unique ability to nullify his opponent’s magic. After that, his extraordinary physical abilities let him best even prodigious wizards. The game uses a massive 3D map with players fighting on a team of four to defeat enemies and complete objectives. Most noteworthy is that this trailer shows off some new gameplay and the ‘Role’ system of QUARTER KNIGHTS. Like in a MOBA style game, different classes have unique abilities. Fighter role characters like Asta charge in to launch direct, hard-hitting combos. Shooters launch magic attacks from afar to pick off enemies. Support characters can launch area of effect (AoE) spells to assist their team with buffs or obstruct enemies. Finally, healers utilize a variety of spells to restore health and boost recovery for teammates. Seems like there are plenty of potential setups to consider. Additionally, the first trailer previewed the game’s story mode featuring all your favorite characters from the BLACK CLOVER anime. On top of that, QUARTET KNIGHTS has an original story written just for the game by BLACK CLOVER creator Yuki Tabata! Your Guide to Everything Happening at Anime Expo 2018! Battles to Come in BLACK CLOVER: QUARTET KNIGHTS! BLACK CLOVER: QUARTET KNIGHTS launches in the Americas on September 14th. Within it, players will be able to use teams to battle other teams in 4v4 magical matches, or play the game’s story mode and enjoy a fresh, original story. For now, the game is set to drop on both PC and PS4, so everyone with a non-trash gaming system will be able to enjoy this amazing game. So far, magazine shonen jump has revealed the following playable characters. At this point, we have Asta, Yuno, Noelle Silva, Yami Sukehiro, Mimosa Vermillion, Magna Swing, Luck Voltia, young Yami Sukehiro, Gauche Adlai, Vanessa Enoteca, Charmy Pappitson, Klaus Lunette, and an original female character named Karuna.
