Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr In BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL #16 we are given a glimpse back into the past of Batman and Robin pursuing Scarecrow. We are also shown the effects of ICHTHYS on Red Hood. But to start this off we should talk about what this issue revolves around mostly: fear. We learn about how fear is a necessity to have. Our antagonist, Mother, uses ICHTHYS as a new way to sculpt her children. Instead of using the Scarecrow’s fear toxin to mold her children, she uses ICHTHYS to make them overcome that fear and become the perfect warrior. But fear is a natural human emotion. It’s what keeps us alive and makes sure that we know what not to do. By ridding people of fear, Mother is not only turning her children into her so-called “warriors,” but she’s also making them less human. This issue reveals to us a few key details that hold Mother’s plans together for her “new world”. It is revealed what ICHTHYS is and how it affects a person. We also learn about an event that took place back in Cairo several years ago that we would never believe Batman be a part of. All this and more are revealed as the story picks up from last week, focusing in on Red Robin and Red Hood. So far the direction that the story has been going in has been on point and hasn’t drawn away from its main focus: to find out what exactly Batman left on the Robins’ shoulders after his apparent death. For all Batman fans and any fans of the Bat Family, it’s key that you don’t miss this issue. I can assure you that however this story ends, it will end changing the Bat Family forever. Just as the story that unfolded in BATMAN ETERNAL affected everyone’s lives, this series will be sure to have the same effect. With the return of Cassandra Cain it’s possible that a spinoff series could begin for her just as one did for Talon out of the pages of BATMAN AND THE COURT OF OWLS. Be sure to pick up this week’s issue of BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL to find out the whole story. READ: Like Batman and Robin Eternal? Then check out last week’s review. BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL REVIEW #15 – Round 2 Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV once again deliver a compelling story that makes us think about the importance of human emotions. How often do we think of fear as a necessity? Almost never, since most people don’t like fear. Nevertheless, it’s important to know fear so that we are able to make good decisions in our life. Writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly return to tell us what ICHTHYS is and what fate holds for our friends Red Robin and Red Hood.Artists Andrea Mutti, Roger Robinson, and Goran Sudzuka each get pages of their own to work, draw and ink, but you would never guess that three different artists worked on this comic. Their art styles are so in sync that it’s hard to tell who drew what. The beautiful colors that are presented to us are from returning colorist Gabe Eltaeb. Eltaeb brightens up the room with his use of colors and is by far a top contender for best colorist of the series this far. Let’s not forget returning cover artists David Finch, Scott Hanna, and Brad Anderson for doing a magnificent job on the cover of this week’s issue of BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL.
