Read BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #22 to find out. The Shocking Finale of BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #22 After the use of Black Canary’s Canary Cry, Burnrate is destroyed and her team is injured. You can feel Dinah’s guilt in the scene. When Huntress is captured by Calculator, she is interrogated about Oracle’s true identity. Even though she is trapped, Huntress’ ferocity never wavers. When Batgirl and Black Canary go rescue Huntress, they leave Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Green Arrow behind. His plans to reveal Oracle’s identity always seemed convoluted to me. However, in BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #22, we finally learn Calculator’s motivation. He was jealous. Because someone else was smarter than him, making his work “obsolete.” This obsession drives him to the brink insanity. His jealousy makes his past actions seem credible, in a way. Although, Calculator’s motivation does not explain why Blackbird joined forces with him. A Tragic Death in BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #22 Someone does not make it out alive in BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #22. I won’t say who, for fear of ruining the surprise. Frankly, I did not expect the loss. This is a plot twist that genuinely surprised me. BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #22 Page 4. Image Courtesy of DC Entertainment. BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY: An Exclusive Interview with Writers Julie Benson and Shawna Benson! In Conclusion BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #22 is a thrilling ending to the story arc. The issue is a no-loose-ends kind of ending. Everything is tied together almost too neatly. There is nothing left ambiguous or open-ended. Not every twist and turn was well-received. The reveal of Oracle’s key and leaving the other Birds of Prey members behind was a bit of a let down for me. However, there were moments that added complexity to the plot, such as the reveal of Calculator’s motivation and a character’s sudden death. Their growth as characters is a real standout. Watching them rise above those hardships was the best part of this arc. Julie Benson and Shawna Benson have brought us one good story full of surprises and girl power. In terms of visuals, Roge Antonio’s artwork is vibrant and action-packed. All in all, I can’t wait to see what is next, not only for the Birds of Prey but for the creative team behind BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #22.
