Clone Conspiracy 2

CLONE CONSPIRACY #2 is Dan Slott at his best. Slott puts Peter Parker through an emotional wringer in this issue, forcing him to confront once-dead loved ones and thorns in his side thought to be long-gone. With the high-caliber artistic team of Cheung, Dell, and Ponsor, CLONE CONSPIRACY continues to be a strong series, with this issue even stronger than the last.

INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1 Review: Riri Williams’ Historic Debut

By Mark Bouchard
November 9, 2016
in :  Comic Book Articles, Comics Reviews

The inclusion of Riri Williams in later issues of the last run of INVINCIBLE IRON MAN prompted the comic to sell out at the distributor level, forcing reprints. Riri Williams makes her debut as a lead character in MARVEL NOW!'s INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1, in which writer Brian Michael Bendis provides readers with an in depth look at Riri's past, without the story at hand taking a hit. Artist Stefano Caselli and colorist Marte Gracia masterfully render Bendis' story, making INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1 a book you CAN'T miss.

THE VISION is without a doubt, one of the greatest comics to have hit shelves in the last few years, so it's certainly a shame to see it come to a close. However, fans will take solace in the fact that the final issue of THE VISION does not waver in terms of quality. The creative team of King, Walta, and Bellaire give fans, and THE VISION the respect they deserve with an immaculate sendoff.

PROWLER #1 Review: Dead Man Walking

By Mark Bouchard

Prowler #1

PROWLER #1 bears the awkward cross of being an event tie-in as well as an origin story. Writer Sean Ryan crams decades of comic book history into a few short pages in an effort to more quickly arrive at the tale at hand, the most recent AMAZING SPIDER-MAN event: DEAD NO MORE. The book's artist, Jamal Campbell brings an indescribable energy, perhaps fueled by his lighting-driven style nearly void of outlines.

Death of X #2 ResurrXtion for X-Men Characters?

Delivering on the solid setup provided by the last issue, Lemire and Soule craft a tense and emotional comic that illuminates the delicate nature of international politics. The combination of Kuder's pencils and Hollowell's colors keep the reader in awe and engaged, bolstering the intensity of Cyclops' monologue while at the same time, revealing the level of communication between members of DEATH OF X #2's creative team.

DEATH OF X #1 Review: A Declaration of War

By Mark Bouchard
October 10, 2016
in :  Comic Book Articles

It’s clear that a great deal changed in the gap between 2015’s SECRET WARS and the launch of Marvel’s ALL-NEW ALL-DIFFERENT lineup, especially for the mutants. DEATH OF X reveals what transpired during those eight months, from both mutant and Inhuman perspectives, which produces an interesting narrative and tonal dichotomy.

in :  Comic Book Articles

With such an enormous roster, it's inevitable that some Marvel heroes will go years without any role in a story arc, let alone their own title. Come October, Marvel will be launching a new "season" of comics, as opposed to the universal relaunch we saw with ALL-NEW ALL-DIFFERENT. This list reveals ten heroes for whom we've got our fingers crossed, hoping they'll make an appearance.

Zendaya Cast as Mary Jane: Stop Complaining

By Mark Bouchard

in :  Comic Book Articles, Comic Book Movies and TV, Movies and Television

According to a report this week at The Wrap, singer and Disney actress Zendaya will be playing Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming Spidey flick, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, and many fans of the webslinger are PISSED. According to them, Zendaya, who is biracial, doesn’t “look enough like Mary Jane” to play Spidey’s longtime love interest, whose girl-next-door vibe is accompanied by alabaster skin, green eyes, and very red hair. Even though, being set in the very-diverse Queens, NYC, an all-white Spider-Man cast makes absolutely no sense.

Despite a recent outcry against Pokémon Go by religious fanatics on social media, the mobile app is doing a lot of good for those suffering from various mental illnesses.
