Marvel Comics Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr The April Marvel solicitations are here, and there’s some pretty sick stuff in the pipeline. Whether you’re looking for a place to jump into the Marvel Universe, or you’re a long-time “True Believer,” there’s a lot to get excited about in this lineup. Here are just a few of the standouts from the April Marvel solicitations: 1. THE HUNT FOR WOLVERINE #1 McNiven Black and White Variant Courtesy of Marvel Comics The man who killed Logan is about to bring him back and lordy are we excited. A crazy mystery surrounding Logan’s place in the Marvel Universe starts here, with art by David Marquez and words by Charles Soule. It’s sure to be one wild ride. And collectors, get your wallets ready. Variant covers for this issue include a black and white by Steve McNiven and a couple wraparounds by Adam Kubert. New WOLVERINE Book Is Coming, Claws Bared 2. EXILES #1 & #2 Courtesy of Marvel Comics Blink — a badass, teleporting member of the X-Men, is about to be recruited by the Unseen. This guardian, who was once known as Nick Fury, observes a threat that will put the entire multiverse at risk. Blink is the perfect champion to save the day, but she’ll be doing it with a new team this time. Saladin Ahmed and Javier Rodriguez will team up to bring this tantalizing tale to life. Look out for issues #1 and #2, both coming in April. 3. DOMINO #1 Courtesy of Marvel Comics Writer Gail Simone is about to bring Domino front and center in her own book and it’s gonna be lit. The mercenary known as “Marvel’s #1 soldier of fortune” is about to have the tides turn on her pretty fast. Domino discovers she’s being hunted and things are sure to get pretty wild from there. Interiors on this bad boy will be done by David Baldeon. 4. VENOMIZED #1 – #4 Courtesy of Marvel Comics You liked VENOMVERSE? Well good news, friend. The story continues in this 5-part series written by Cullen Bunn and drawn by Iban Coello. A new threat, called The Poisons, seeks to target and consume super-powered symbiotes and their hosts. Needless to say, the heroes of the Marvel Universe aren’t exactly pumped about this. Venom and the X-Men are the only matches for this kind of threat, and they come roaring back with a vengeance. Buckle up, kids. This one’s sure to get intense. 5. OLD MAN HAWKEYE #4 Courtesy of Marvel Comics People seem pretty pumped on OLD MAN HAWKEYE, and we’re just as excited about the next installment in the 12-part series. Ethan Sacks and Marco Checcetto embark on issue #4 of this beast, where old man things keep happening to Hawkeye. His eyesight may be failing him, but that’s not gonna stop him from having baller adventures. This issue promises to keep the adrenaline up, so hold on to your butts. OLD MAN HAWKEYE #1 Review: A Strong First Issue 6. RISE OF THE BLACK PANTHER #4 Courtesy of Marvel Comics We can never, ever get enough BLACK PANTHER. Ta-Nehisi Coates, Evan Narcisse, and Javier Pina continue RISE OF THE BLACK PANTHER in the next installment of their 6-part series that tells the origins of this mighty hero. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to get acquainted with the character’s background before the movie comes out, or old fans who just want a new spin on the story. Oh and Doctor Doom is in this issue. So there’s that. 7. MARVEL RISING #0 Courtesy of Marvel Comics Two of the most delightful characters in the Marvel Universe roster are about to come together for the first time and I’m squealing. Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl are totally gonna hang out and kick butt. These heroes meet at a computer programming camp, which is just so damn perfect. But of course, things have to go awry or else we have no story. Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, America, Inferno, and Patriot all have a part to play here and can I just read this one now? And maybe best of all, this issue is going to be FREE.The creative team on this gift includes writer Devin Grayson and artist Marco Failla. 8. ROGUE & GAMBIT #4 Courtesy of Marvel Comics Kelly Thompson and Pere Perez’s awesome limited series, ROGUE & GAMBIT, is sadly coming to a close. The penultimate issue will include a “battle royale” that will be both emotionally and physically challenging for our heroes. They’re also going to swap powers, so that’s a thing. By the sound of it, the book should probably come with its own box of tissues. We’re sad because there’s only one issue left, but we’re pumped because more ROGUE & GAMBIT. Color us conflicted, but also consider us sold! Why These are the Best of the April Marvel Solicitations They’ve been hyped, there’s been buzz, and you’ve been informed.
